Exit Shoot

I recently did location sound on a shoot for ‘EXIT’ a film by Daniel Zimbler.

It was filmed on location at Layer Marney Tower, Colchester. The Director and Writer was Daniel Zimbler, the 1st Ad was Paul Desira, the Producer was Andrew Hauser, the DOP was Adam Etherington.

The cast was: Julian Glover as Geeles, Ed Coleman as Todman, Christopher Brandon as Jake, Helena Johnson as Jessamy, Maggie Robinson as Mrs Robinson, Eddie Mcnee as Mr Robinson, Keith Hill as John Pearse.

It was a really good shoot and I will post a link to the finished film once it has finished being edited and mixed.

Here are some pictures I took of the set and crew.

Having lived in the village of Layer-de-la-Haye, (close to Layer Marney Tower) for many years and having taken childhood friends to visit the tower this weekend, I ’slipped into’ this article about filming at Layer Marney. The reason I was carrying out some research is that I was convinced that a famous period drama film was shot at the tower many years ago. However, when I asked the person manning the shop at the tower which film it was, I was assured by her that only TV films had been made there.
I am curious, having discovered that many productions had been filmed at Layer Marney, as to how people get into supporting the making of films/TV productions. I worked for many years in education and am looking for something to do in retirement. Is it possible that there are any openings for people to work, on a voluntary basis, on assisting at film locations? I am looking to use my organisational and creative skills on projects that will be mutually beneficial? Any ideas?!!
