Having lived in the village of Layer-de-la-Haye, (close to Layer Marney Tower) for many years and having taken childhood friends to visit the tower this weekend, I 'slipped into' this article about filming at Layer Marney. The reason I was carrying out some research is that I was convinced that a famous period drama film was shot at the tower many years ago. However, when I asked the person manning the shop at the tower which film it was, I was assured by her that only TV films had been made there.
I am curious, having discovered that many productions had been filmed at Layer Marney, as to how people get into supporting the making of films/TV productions. I worked for many years in education and am looking for something to do in retirement. Is it possible that there are any openings for people to work, on a voluntary basis, on assisting at film locations? I am looking to use my organisational and creative skills on projects that will be mutually beneficial? Any ideas?!!
